Library Board Meeting Minutes

Meetings are typically held on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 pm at the library. Following are dates for 2025: 2/19 (note later date), 4/9, 5/14, 6/11, 9/10, 10/8 & 11/12. No meetings are held in March, July , August or December.

All regular trustees meetings are open to the public! If a meeting is cancelled or rescheduled, a notice will be posted on the library’s Facebook page as well as at the library.

* Amendments to Bylaws to clarify and update language

Suggested Bylaw amendment:

These amendments are suggested to clarify language and update to reflect current law.

1. Article IV, Section 1 – Consider revising the entire section to this language:
The board of trustees of the association shall consist of nine members. Trustees shall be elected from the membership of the association during the Annual Meeting of the association. Trustees shall serve for a term of three years. In the event of a mid-term vacancy, the president of the board, with the approval of the board, shall appoint someone from the association membership to fill the seat until the time of the next annual meeting.

2. Article IV, section 2
If section 1 is revised, strike this last sentence:
It shall also fill any vacancies in its own membership or in the offices of the association until the time of the next annual meeting.

3. Article IV, Section 4
Update wording as indicated to reflect Education Law §260-d.
Trustees must complete 3 hours of continuing education per are required to complete a minimum of two hours of trustee education each year, as approved by Finger Lakes Library System.
